Wow! What an amazing start to the second half of 2016. Over the almost 10 years I've been in business this is not the first time I am caught speechless with the endless dedication, encouragement and absolute support to my business, employees and now expansion. What a wonderful community BarSculpt has! I cannot thank you all enough. We have expanded! We are now also offering classes at 116 Free Street inside of the Head Games Salon. Thank you all who joined us for our first 4 days of $2 classes. We will continue to offer #Poundfit classes at that price as...

My top five reasons why we should all add personal training to our routines, even if we're already going to classes. 1) Private (personal) training is the best way to ensure proper form and technique. While we do our very best to ensure we are providing you with this during your classes, there is no substitute for having a person by your side providing you immediate feedback based on your own body. Your instructor pays attention and cues both your mind and your body making sure you are doing each exercise correctly and as effectively as possible. It is advice you can take with you, as well. Because every body is different, we all need help...

Holly wants to teach you some early morning and evening BarSculpt classes! She has been on a brief BarSculpt teaching hiatus, but is joining us in our second year at 45 Casco Street. Holly is a licensed BarSculpt instructor (trained by Leslie) as well as a Yoga instructor. Whether you remember Holly from our last location or will be meeting her for the first time, be sure to come in for one of her fun classes!...

Annie is back to teach BarSculpt and Pilates! Annie started as a client and trained in Pilates and BarSculpt under Leslie at our first location. She is certified by the Pilates Method Alliance in Pilates (all apparatus) and is a licensed BarSculpt instructor. She took a little break to have adorable twins and is excited to come back to teaching. She would be a fantastic trainer and resource for any of you who are pregnant or have a little one at home....

Hi! I hope you are having a good winter! I am reaching out today because an organization I care deeply about needs our help. There are two local organizations that are close to my heart, and worthy of me sending out emails asking for help/support/donations. The first is Maine Cancer Foundation, because CANCER. The other is Maine Roller Derby for lots of little reasons that maybe aren't as big as the word cancer, but are a pretty big deal. To bring you up to speed, my league has been presented with an opportunity to purchase the building that houses Happy Wheels Skate Center...

When I first started practicing yoga, I wanted to know more.  I wanted to immerse myself in everything that was yoga and be with like-minded spirits.   The Everyday Wisdom 200 Hour Yoga Immersion is about learning what yoga has to offer that can enhance and inform your everyday life.  You will learn yoga anatomy and philosophy.  You will be introduced to the world of chakras and energy as well as meditation.  In this immersion, you will learn how to teach yoga if you choose to take that path.   The Everyday Wisdom 200 hour Yoga Immersion is your chance to dive deeper...

GIVE IT UP FOR THE GRAVY! Well folks, it is upon us again, that season that Leslie likes to refer to as the “season of gravy”. Its time for turkeys, trimmings and family gatherings: a time when most Americans can gain anywhere from 5 10lbs in a 2 month timespan. To offer up a little help to combat Grandma’s Gut Busting Gravy I offer up a glutenfree and potentially dairyfree (if you are into that kind of thing) solution. Here is a Health Coach Laurel Approved Gravy recipe, the one I make for my very own people. Ingredients   2 Tablespoons of Butter...

Our entire studio is very Pilates-based, it may be appropriate to describe it as a type of 'functional training' (but let us be clear, it is not physical therapy) as the goal, for the most part, is in the movements that we use and helping clients to connect to those movements. Whether it is Pilates, BarSculpt, Yoga, or basic strength training, the goal is to move the body in a balanced and mind-connected way. While we can help with weight loss and other fitness related goals, the training always begins by training the client in movement (based on their needs) and then...

"Leslie, Your studio and one on one sessions have made me a healthier mom and a stronger person. The only workout I've ever stuck with and look forward to doing! It's my outlet and you are so amazing to work with! Especially with all my (minor) ailments, I thought I would never be able to get a good workout in. I love your staff and you all make me feel like I'm a part of your family! Thank you!!" ~T.R. I couldn't be more pleased to receive this note from my client. T.R. Started coming to the studio at the beginning...
