Movement and fitness have always been an important part of Meredith's
life. She first discovered the benefits of Pilates when it was
offered in conjunction with her Ballet and Modern training as a young
dancer. Meredith received her B.A. in dance teaching and performance from
Smith College, all the while still training in
Pilates. As her career performing and teaching continued to build,
Meredith discovered that Pilates could change the look and feel of her
body unlike anything else. She recognized that this method is a
continual practice, one that connects both the mind and body. She wanted
Meredith also serves as the Admissions
Director of Bates Dance Festival, and is on faculty in the dance
departments of Bates College, Colby College and Southern Maine
Community College.As an instructor, Meredith places focus on form, and
breath while challenging you to exceed your self-defined limits.
Students can expect a workout that is challenging, intense, motivating
and fun. Her class offers a great variety of exercises. Students leave each class feeling physically
challenged with a great sense of self accomplishment.
Meredith's specialties for Private Pilates sessions include: Athlete's
and Dancers, Injury Rehabilitation, and anybody wishing to pursue a
well-rounded, healthy lifestyle. On the lighter side, Meredith also
loves to train prenatal clients throughout their pregnancy and then
get them back into shape after their babies! She looks forward to
helping her clients nurture their mind-body awareness so that they can
safely and efficiently move through their everyday lives.
