16 Sep Lacey Vassar
Lacey is a dedicated and engaged BarSculpt and Pilates instructor. She has been working for Pure Movement since 2010, after a year spent as a frequent client. Her journey to becoming an instructor was not an obvious one. While she has always felt at ease in front of a crowd and thrived off of the feeling of an invigorating workout, she did not come by teaching classes until the Pure Movement community and her mentor/teacher (Leslie J Guerin) instilled in her the confidence to grow from student to teacher.
As a child, Lacey was a natural athlete and participated in team sports and some individual sports activities, but always struggled with her weight. It was not until her adult life that she discovered her love for fitness and succeeded at losing more than 50 pounds through exercise and diet. Once a client of Pure Movement, she was able to practice all of the elements of fitness she enjoys most - in classes like BarSculpt, Pilates, Bootcamp, and Yoga. She began practicing these daily.
Upon resigning from a 'day job' from which she derived little happiness, Lacey took up a front desk position at Pure Movement, which soon led to instructor training in Pilates Reformer, Mat, Anatomy, and BarSculpt. She trained under Leslie J Guerin through the Advanced levels of Pilates and BarSculpt. She is now a licensed BarSculpt instructor and is certified in Pilates (All Apparatus) through the Pilates Method Alliance. She has not only been teaching BarSculpt and Pilates for years, but she also leads BarSculpt instructor trainings as a BarSculpt Educator.
As an instructor, Lacey places a lot of focus on form and function, enabling her students to work at optimum efficiently so that they can get the best possible workout with the least probability of injury. It is the emphasis on this, as well as body awareness and wellness that drawsLacey to Pilates and BarSculpt. She has noticed a vast difference in the way her body looks, feels, and performs since beginning these methods and hopes to impart this onto her clients. Whether in a group or individual setting, Lacey's clients are drawn to and stick with her because of her challenging and body-changing workouts with an emphasis on building strength and flexibility, in order to stay healthy for as long as possible. Those who may be suffering/recovering from an injury or have other special physical needs will also benefit from workouts with Lacey as she is able to pay special attention to and tailor sessions to their needs.
Lacey has many BarSculpt and Pilates (Reformer and Mat) classes on the Pure Movement schedule. She is also available for private personal or group training sessions.
